Mr Dale Ojutiku – Consultant Gynaecologist

Dale has a rich cultural heritage from Nigeria but was born, brought up and had his early education in Islington, North London. When his family relocated to Nigeria he attended the prestigious St Gregory’s College in Lagos and Government College in Ibadan before obtaining his medical degree at University College Hospital, University of Ibadan – Nigeria’s premier institution.

Following this he returned to the UK for his postgraduate training, starting with Obstetrics & Gynaecology in Birmingham and then moving to an elective job in Genitourinary Medicine at St Mary’s Hospital London. This was followed by higher specialist training at Guy’s & St Thomas’ Hospitals part of the South East Thames Specialist Registrar rotation. He was appointed to a substantive NHS Obstetrician & Gynaecology consultant post at Mid & South Essex NHS Hospitals Trust in 2000, a post he held until retirement in 2023. During this period he had additional roles as Undergraduate Tutor, Lead for Governance and Clinical Risk Management, Departmental Research Lead, Lead for Multiple Pregnancies, Clinical Director and Lead for Perinatal Pelvic Health.

He is a family man with grown up children and enjoys traveling, music and socialising amongst others. Since retiring from his full time NHS commitments he has developed a new found interest in history and is an avid follower of world and current affairs.

Qualifications

Primary Degree:  MB BS University College Hospital, University of Ibadan, Nigeria – 1985

Postgraduate qualifications:

Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologist (FRCOG)

Fellow of the Faculty of Sexual & Reproductive Healthcare (FFSRH)

Master of Science (MSc) in Pre-Implantation Genetic Diagnosis & Fetal Medicine – University College, London

Master of Arts (MA) with distinction in Healthcare Risk Management – Loughborough University, Loughborough.
